GAIL HAROLDSEN PORTER

SOURCES I’VE CONSULTED
and Other Research Tools I’ve Used
Since deciding to write this series, I have consulted a wide range of sources about both the Mormon colonies and the Mexican Revolution. Besides non-fiction references, journals, and memoirs, I’ve also read a fair number of novels to get the flavor of the culture and times. Recently, it occurred to me that others might like to know what sources I’ve used and which I think are the best ones.
The list published here is by no means exhaustive. It will take me some time to catch up with the sources I’ve gathered over the past twenty years. I typically add one or two new entries per week, depending on my schedule
Please note: There are no links to vendors for these sources. I’m leaving it up to you to locate a copy of anything you’d like to read. Some books may be out. (Thank goodness for inter-library loans.) And don’t overlook the possibility of finding a digitized copy online.
